Guesthouses in the Fez Riads Budget Range are all traditional medina houses. You can expect:
Cleanliness • Western bathrooms en suite or occasionally, adjacent to the room, with constant hot water • Linen and towels • A simple breakfast with fruit juice, coffee or tea and Moroccan breads and preserves • Air-conditioning in some houses; if not, then fans and space heaters are provided • Wifi is not always available • Transfers from airport, bus or train stations at extra cost
Riad Medina Fes
Riad Medina Fes offers an authentic slice of medina life in a residential area, off the beaten track. It’s a pretty riad with four bedrooms and a swimming pool.
Riad l’Artiste
This well-managed, art-filled guesthouse with five bedrooms offers very good value. It’s at Bab J’did, a less-touristed area in the south of the medina.
Dar Iman
Dar Iman is a traditional house in an excellent location in the medina. The accommodation is flexible as some rooms can sleep up to four people.
Pension Dar Bouanania
This pension offers budget accommodation in style. The house is prettily decorated with lots of painted wood and mosaics, and is in a superb location.
Riad Hala
Riad Hala is situated in a convenient location off Tala’a Kebira and offers good value accommodation.
Dar Houdou
Meaning place of peace and calm, Dar Houdou is well-placed for exploring the medina. With just three bedrooms, it’s cosy and has helpful, friendly management.
Pension Sekaya
This is an excellent value, simple pension in a great position near Tala’a Kebira. Rooms are comfortable and have bathrooms en suite.
Dar Fes Medina
The only guesthouse in the medina that’s a new build, Dar Fes Medina offers 10 bedrooms and vehicular access.
Riad Dar Skalli
This majestic house full of gracious columns and mosaics, cedarwood and carved plaster, offers superb value for money. It’s in Douh, a very convenient area of the medina, and is known for its friendly hospitality.
Dar Anebar Sghira
The owners of the prestigious Dar Anebar have opened this smaller house at affordable prices. Located close to the centre of the medina and round the corner from its sister house, it has modern comforts not often found in this price range.
Maison Fez Aya
Maison Fez Aya is a family pension that offers superb value. It’s close to Tala’a Kebira, the main medina shopping street.
Dar Drissi
Dar Drissi is in the heart of the medina, yet not far from parking. It has versatile accommodation with four rooms sleeping from two to four, and altogether sleeps up to 10 people.
Riad al Akhawaine
A good example of a traditional medina house, Riad al Akhawaine is in a superb location for exploring Fez.
